Sponsor: European Commission (Switch Asia Programme)
Objective of this project was to increase resource efficiency in about 480 Companies in metal finishing Industrie in 8 industrial regions in India. Main focus was to improve acid recovery and recycling in participating companies and to optimize utilization of resources in the whole process.
As a first step, trainer from local partners have been trained in resource efficiency with specific focus on metal finishing industries, waste water and waste water treatment.
As second step workshops and onsite consulting introduced Acidloop concept and knowledge to industries.
Third step was to develop and install demonstration units for waste water treatment and acid recuperation in selected companies with the midterm objective to create a local market for such units and supporting consultancy.
Projekt duration: 2012 bis 2015
Quantitative Results: 385 industries actively particiapted in Acidloop workshops on Resource Efficiency (RE) and ‘closed loop’ technologies. 106 industries in 8 indian regions received onsite consultancy from project team and implemented multiple efficiency measures (on average 13 RE implementations). These industries have been able to safe 21% energy and 23% material costs/kg of product on average.
